Marc Rebillet Announces Exclusive Goa Show
The artist is being hosted by Goa Sound Tamasha

Goa-based events community, Goa Sound Tamasha will be kicking off its first large-scale event in 2024 by hosting world-famous improv musician and performer Marc Rebillet for an exclusive show at Echo, Goa, on February 24th.
Rebillet, who gained massive internet notoriety over the 2020 pandemic, is now considered a bona fide musical superstar, having played at major international festivals, including Coachella last year.
Fresh from his US tour, during which he traversed the country in his car, making stops in various cities to entertain the public with impromptu street performances, he is now set to grace India. The tour reached its climax with a grand display at Venice Beach, Los Angeles, drawing a crowd of over 1000 spectators eager to witness the one-of-a-kind spectacle that is the Marc Rebillet Showcase. An eclectic mix of live looping and over-the-top comedic freestyling, Rebillet became an instant viral sensation.
When asked about this event, founder Mohit Hirwani told Rolling Stone India that “bringing such an original, independent, and delightfully unconventional act like Marc to India has been a top priority for the team at Goa Sound Tamasha.”
Hirwani, who founded Goa Sound Tamasha in 2022, aims to create a platform to drive independent musical experiences across India and the globe, breaking away from the algorithmic decisions made in the industry. After departing from his roles as a banker and corporate employee in 2021, he found himself reassessing his life’s trajectory.
Throughout his teenage years and college experience, Hirwani engaged in his passion for event organization by orchestrating various events and cultural festivals. The fulfillment derived from entertaining others has always resonated deeply with him. Fueled by a genuine love for music and a curiosity about its broader influence, he embarked on a journey that led him to the lifestyle and arts community, Cirrus, Goa, in 2021.
Alongside Sudhir Dasgupta, who assisted in the conceptualization and was also a resident at Cirrus, together they created the concept of Goa Sound Tamasha to bring their selection of music to wider audiences, across the country.
The word “Tamasha” refers to folk theatre and musical performances that have taken place on the streets of India for centuries, while Goa has been the home of India’s independent underground musical exploration for over 40 years. The team at Goa Sound Tamasha strives to bring Goa’s mostly forgotten energy to music listeners across the country, using the Vinyl Ambulance—India’s only “festival on wheels”—as a vehicle to drive the expansion of this movement. With this in mind, Ambulance has toured India twice since 2022, hosting showcases in over 15 cities across the country to rave reviews from audiences and promoters alike.
Supporting Marc Rebillet on the lineup are Ananda Tandava Soundsystem X 10000 Lions, Shanka Tribe, and Shantam Khanna and the Funky Bunch, Selectress Iriela, and Akira Arasawa.
