Megan Thee Stallion Wants to Get Rid of Men and Take Over the World on ‘Out Alpha the Alpha’

Megan Thee Stallion has her sights set on world domination — and her takeover includes getting rid of all the men. On the soundtrack to A24‘s first-ever musical Dicks: The Musical, in theaters today, the rapper blazes through her masterplan with “Out Alpha the Alpha” with unrelenting dominance.

“I’ma tell you the secret to my success,” she starts, and the answers flow from there: “Men are all stupid, weak little boys. They’re not very smart, they just make lots of noise. They got their nose up my ass, they wanna be teachers pet. And so I keep ’em on their toes and make those fuckers sweat.”

Megan Thee Stallion stars in Dicks: The Musical as Gloria, the all powerful company head who walks men around on leashes and gives the film’s main characters (two self-obsessed businessmen played by Aaron Jackson & Josh Sharp) a run for their money.

“We just wrote the song for a random actress that we imagined might be the kind of person that would be cast as Gloria. That person was not Megan Thee Stallion at all, so, when the casting conversation rolled out, and we learned that it would be Megan, we had this song — which was, I thought, really promising, but was in no way suitable for the force of nature that is Megan,” composer Marius de Vries recently told Billboard.

He added: “So, we had to very, very quickly go back to the drawing board, because it had to be completely re-styled, and it had to be done unbelievably quickly. She had a very limited amount of time to construct and record the rap, rehearse it on set, and shoot it. All of that process was very condensed into four or five days. So, we had to kind of pause efforts on all fronts at a very late stage in rehearsal, lock ourselves away, and come up with some sort of musical skeleton that we felt she wouldn’t find offensively inappropriate in terms of what was suitable for her to sing.”

Dicks: The Musical, adapted from the off-broadway musical Fucking Identical Twins, follows Jackson and Sharp’s characters as they attempt to reunite their divorced parents after finding out they are long-lost identical twin brothers á la the Parent Trap. The film also stars Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, and Bowen Yang.
