The Rolling Stones frontman also met with Indian playback singer Usha Uthup and sang a duet with her
The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger was spotted roaming the streets of Kolkata over the weekend.
On Sunday (November 12), the 80-year-old English singer and songwriter posted a series of photographs on Instagram wishing everyone “Happy Diwali and Kali Pujo”.
According to reports, Jagger was in Kolkata to watch the November 11 cricket match between England and Pakistan.
He was reportedly a guest of the English team.
In a statement prior to the match, a spokesperson from the Cricket Association of Bengal told the Times of India that “Jagger will be at the corporate box office, and we are happy to serve him a specially curated Bengali lunch”.
During his stay in the city, Jagger also met with Indian playback singer Usha Uthup.
During their meet, the duo sang a few notes of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” on camera.
In a conversation with the Times of India, Uthup admitted that meeting Jagger in person was a major “fan moment” for her.
“I’ve been singing Jagger’s songs for many years now and it’s always wonderful to meet somebody you’ve been listening to all your life,” Uthup, 76, said.
“It was one of the most memorable moments of my singing career.”
