The musician executive-produced the album with Shawn Everett

Something Beautiful is going to be much more than an album. On Tuesday, Miley Cyrus followed her album announcement with a trailer for its accompanying film, which teases an imaginative storyline backed by the album’s 13 tracks.

“A unique visual experience, fueled by fantasy, including 13 original songs from the upcoming album. A one-of-a-kind pop opera from the mind of… Miley Cyrus,” reads the onscreen text.

The minute-and-a-half trailer shows Cyrus in a myriad of dresses and outfits, including Thierry Mugler couture, Jean Paul Gaultier, custom Alexander McQueen, and Alaïa. In tiny vignettes, she’s seen walking through the streets of Los Angeles, posing inside studio stages, and making out with a mystery lover. The video also includes tiny snippets of what will likely be the music to come on the new album.

“If I break away any bodies between us, would you promise I’m enough?” Cyrus declares at the end of the video. ” If I give you all my love?”

The upcoming film is set to premiere in June, shortly after Something Beautiful drops on May 30. The singer is co-directing the film with Jacob Bixenman (behind “Flowers” and three other videos from Endless Summer Vacation) and Brendan Walter (who has directed videos by Marina, Shawn Mendes, and Lorde) with Benoît Debie (Spring BreakersThe Sisters Brothers) helming the cinematography. The film is produced by Cyrus, XYZ, and Panos Cosmatos along with herColumbia Records and Live Nation.

The new trailer also lists the number of tracks on the album executive-produced by Cyrus and Shawn Everett: 13. Something Beautiful will be Cyrus’ ninth studio album and first in two years, following 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation and 2020’s Plastic Hearts.
