Millie Bobby Brown Says She and David Harbour Have a ‘Great Relationship’ Amid Bullying Rumors

"It makes me want to bring my A-game every single time I see that I’m on the call sheet with him because I know he’s bringing it right back," actress says of Stranger Things co-star

Millie Bobby Brown continued to praise her Stranger Things co-star David Harbour amid a report that the actor bullied her on the set of the Netflix series.

Speaking to Deadline at a press junket, the actress was asked if she “felt safe” when shooting with Harbour. “Of course I felt safe, we’ve worked together for 10 years; I felt safe with everyone on that set,” Brown said.

“We also play father and daughter so naturally you have a closer bond than the rest, because we have had some really intense scenes together, especially in Season 2.”

She continued, “But David and I have a great relationship. We work really closely together in the scenes and preparing for the scenes, and I’m really excited for everyone to see the labor of love and hard work we put into it and the closure of our relationship and what it looks like, and to give the fans — especially the Hopper and Eleven fans — those scenes I feel like will be quite impactful.”

Brown added of her scenes with Harbour, “It makes me want to bring my A-game every single time I see that I’m on the call sheet with him because I know he’s bringing it right back. Definitely sometimes it’s a wake-up call.”

Brown’s comments come after the Daily Mail reported that she allegedly filed harassment and bullying claims against Harbour — who plays her adoptive dad of sorts on the series — with producers of the hit Netflix show prior to shooting the final season. The actors previously downplayed the rumors by posing and smiling together at the Stranger Things Season 5 premiere.

While neither Brown nor Harbour (or Netflix) has addressed the bullying claims directly, the actress has reiterated that she enjoyed working with Harbour in interviews.

“We’ve been doing that for the last 10 years,” Brown said in a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter. “I mean, we have always been united in that. We love this show with everything, and we value our friendship more than anything.”

She added, “It was quite nostalgic because it reminded me so much of season two and three, where we’re both kind of butting heads and she’s growing up, she’s trying to find her own voice and he’s trying to parent, and that dynamic definitely comes back into play once again, and I’m really excited for people to see that,” the actress added. “And I think some of people’s favorite scenes of Eleven are Ele and [Hopper], so I’m really excited to have that come to screen once again.”
