The event is set to take place this November
On November 4th and 5th, a brand-new festival is set to hit Mumbai and Bengaluru called the SPXCEJXM Festival (pronounced Spacejam).
Founded by event promoters Noel Swami (of ODDC Media and previously of Vh1 Supersonic) and Manav Dhumal (from Avrik Live’s), the festival is geared up to program around 24 acts per city and will include both Indian artists as well as international ones too. Spread across three stages, the music on show will include alternative, pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop and jazz.
Dhumal – who recently worked on hip-hop artist Russ’ India shows last year – said in a joint statement with Swami, “It’s exciting to be able to bring our collective vision to life in such a good way. We have been working on the concept and lineup for quite some time now and we cannot wait to put it out there.” They added, “From having been involved with music festivals for over a decade to be able to produce our own is a lifelong dream. The recent Russ tour is a great example of independent promoters being able to successfully set a benchmark.”
Although the lineup and tickets for the festival are yet to be announced, festival goers in the meantime can mark their calendars for what is sure to be a busy festival season this year. Swami does tease though about the lineup, he said in a statement, “Some of the hugely successful globally renowned acts will be making their debut in India.”
