Muse will take the stage at the 2012 London Olympics’ closing ceremony this Sunday. The U.K. rockers will perform their new tune “Survival,” which was composed specifically for the Games.

“I’m happy with the song. It’s a proper Muse song,” drummer Dom Howard said. “It’s not something we just did for the Olympics. They sowed a seed by asking us to do some music but then five months went by. We showed them a few songs when they asked us about [playing the] closing ceremony and they loved it. It represented the enormous competition of what the Olympics is.”

The band will join an all-star lineup that includes the Who, George Michael, Jessie J, and the Spice Girls; that same night, Blur will continue the closing festivities by headlining a concert London’s Hyde Park, along with New Order and the Specials.

As with the opening ceremony, the music featured in the closing ceremony will be released digitally immediately after the show, as a set entitled A Symphony of British Music: Music for the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
