Indian artists who have released music via TuneCore will get a chance to perform a 20-minute set

A new partnership between music platform TuneCore India and conference/festival Music Matters Live and CreatorWeek will give Indian artists a chance to perform in Singapore on May 10th.
Indian artists who have released at least one song via TuneCore can now apply to be a part of the Music Matters Live festival and conference – part of the larger CreatorWeek festival – taking place between May 7th and 11th in Singapore.
The winning artist or band – selected by TuneCore and the Music Matters Live committee – will get to attend the full conference as well as get a 20-minute performance slot at Clarke Quay, Singapore. In addition to India, fellow TuneCore artists from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam are also performing at Music Matters Live due to the partnership.
The contest is open to all TuneCore India artists across all languages and genres. Artists can submit their entries via TuneCore India’s Instagram account between April 8th to 15th, 2024. In addition to usual music links, the form also calls for artist to attach a 60-second video clip from a live performance to strengthen the application. The winner will be contacted by April 18th to facilitate a trip to Singapore, plus a fixed token sum of ₹35,000 will be awarded to each selected artist(s) or band.
A press release for the initiative states, “Through the new partnership, TuneCore and Music Matters Live are providing independent artists from India with the opportunity to showcase their music internationally, as well as interact with and learn from fellow independent musicians from the region.”
In addition to this Indian representation at Music Matters Live, New Delhi singer-songwriter and producer Dhruv Visvanath announced last week that he will also be performing at the festival between May 8th and 11th.
Artists like Mumbai electro-rock band Pentagram, rock veterans Indus Creed, Nagaland’s Alobo Naga and Goa-based electronic artist Dualist Inquiry have previously represented India at the festival.
