South Korean rock band N.Flying make a heartening comeback with the introspective single “Sober.” Dubbed as the lead single off their first-ever repackaged album, Turbulence, the single offers hope to youngsters navigating through the highs and lows of life.

Composed by member Lee Seung Hyub alongside Lee Hyun Seung, and TM, with lyrics written by Lee Seung Hyub, “Sober” promises an enveloping listening experience with its bass guitar riff and backing percussion beats, keeping the momentum of the melody fresh and youthful.

Taking a symbolic route with their cinematography, the group compares the troubling feelings of anxiety and immaturity to aircraft turbulence. Described as an ode to today’s youth, the track tackles various issues faced by young people such as isolation and anxiety; “I was trapped by something like a wall/ When loneliness came to wake me up/ I pleaded for it to stay away.”

As the turbulence simmers down, the aircraft lands on a scenic hill, symbolizing a hopeful conclusion to the turmoil.

N.Flying’s latest 13 track repackaged album, Turbulence follows the group’s June 2021 album, Man On The Moon.
