The track will be out on all platforms on Valentine's Day
The Mumbai-bred rapper and MC Naved Shaikh aka Naezy, has announced the release of his third single of 2024, titled “Fearless”.
The track, which aims to cement the gully-rapper’s entrance back into mainstream Indian hip-hop, will be dropping on Wednesday, February 14th. Naezy, who has spent a majority of the past year in relative silence, aside from his four-track EP Apocalypse, the love-smitten single “Mallika” and a handful of online freestyle sessions, is preparing to lean into the comeback mindset that he has entered the year with.
“Fearless” which sees Naezy embracing a newfound confidence in his own songwriting, invokes themes of resilience and strength amid hardship. Having released previous songs either independently or via Saregama, “Fearless” will be released through the distribution company Believe.
Reflecting upon these very themes, Naezy proclaims, “Mai aafat hoon, aur tumhaare liye vaapas aa raha hoon.” (I am a force to be reckoned with, and I am coming back for you).
Pondering intently on his legacy and impact on the Indian hip-hop scene, specifically with the subculture of “gully rap” that he is often credited with being an early pioneer of, Naezy sees himself utilizing his latest releases as a vessel to give back to the fans that have stuck by his side throughout his career.
He further adds, “Jitne bhi pareshaani ya takleefein thi, unse mein lad raha hoon. Mere fans ne jitna faith rakha, woh khona mat.” (I have been fighting through any hardships I have faced. I urge my fans to not lose the faith that they have kept in me.)
“Fearless” will be out on all platforms on Valentine’s Day 2024.
Naezy will also perform at the VH1 Supersonic Music Festival in Pune on the coming weekend.
