After releasing his debut nine-track album My Best Days Were With Her last year, Nagpur producer and singer-songwriter Atul Gupta gained plenty of traction on streaming platforms. He says, “That gave me the motivation to release new music.” To keep the momentum going, Gupta recently dropped his second album, the 10-track Soulart.
The new record includes pop tunes (“Need You,” “She’s Love To Me,”) melancholy (“Stay Away”) and an acoustic ditty titled “One Two Three Times (I’m Waiting for You).” The LP also features four stripped-down versions of the tracks. Gupta counts the making of Soulart to have been quite inspiring. He says, “I had so many doubts when I started with any songs but then I somehow completed each one.” While producing the album, Gupta even mixed and mastered the tracks himself. “With each track, I had gained knowledge about production, mixing, and technical stuff,” he says.
Not one to lay low, Gupta has already begun work on new music and has a song titled “I Miss You Today” ready to be released soon. The artist has even started a production house in Nagpur called Young Homie Production. He says, “We have started our own label to also promote artists and to deliver new music here.”
