In the heart of electronic music, a groundbreaking endeavor has been unveiled, set to shake the very foundations of the trance scene. A new database has emerged, meticulously collecting 150,000 classic trance tracks spanning the era from 1988 to 2009. This monumental archive promises to be a beacon for enthusiasts, DJs, and producers alike, offering a comprehensive glimpse into the evolution of trance music over two transformative decades.

The list has began with Koncz Dávid – aka TheTranceHistorian – who started compiling it in 2022. Curated with meticulous attention to detail, each track encapsulates a moment in time, a sonic journey that defined an era. From the euphoric melodies of the late ’80s to the peak-time anthems of the early 2000s, this database captures the essence of its euphoric highs and introspective lows.

In a statement on the Trancefix forum Dávid said, “The database is considered mostly finished, and it has almost every classic trance track ever made listed in it. I say ‘mostly’ because I had to make some minor compromises to save a significant amount of work time.”

For decades, trance music has served as a conduit for emotional expression, a genre that transcends language and culture to unite listeners on dancefloors around the world. Now, with the unveiling of this unprecedented archive, fans can delve deeper into the genre.

But this database is more than just a collection of tracks; it’s a living, breathing archive that invites exploration and discovery. With advanced search functionalities and curated playlists, users can embark on a sonic journey through trance history, charting the evolution of sounds, styles, and trends that have shaped the genre’s trajectory.
