Deepika Seth – “Kahin Duur”

New Delhi-bred and Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Deepika Seth’s debut single comes in the shape of the melancholic “Kahin Duur.” The track includes poignant plucked guitar parts, atmospheric soundscapes as well as Seth’s elegant vocals. The song – produced by Prabahan Shakya aka Imon – opens up gradually to include drums, harmonies and horn parts too. In a statement, Seth said, “I was dealing with a very odd kind of heartbreak when this song first came to me — where there were no hard feelings at all — just unfortunate timing.”

Bone Broke – “Come Around”

Although Mumbai-based artist Dinkar Dwivedi has had his music outfit Bone Broke around for well over a decade, today he announced the release of his debut single, the pop-leaning “Come Around.” The track is draped in synths, groovy drums, funky guitar parts and Dwivedi’s silky vocals. With a strong debut like this, hopefully, Bone Broke continues to release fresh tunes on the regular going forward.

Nyla Saldanha – birthday menu

Bengaluru/Mumbai singer-songwriter Nyla Saldanha recently released her five-track debut EP birthday menu. The record includes folk-pop sounds, spoken word, audio samples and more. In a statement, the artist said, “birthday menu started off as a fun writing experiment I came up with when I found a menu I’d made for a dinner party at home when I was five or six years old. I found that the misspelled dishes on the menu resembled a set list and tried writing to each of them. What resulted, was the most fun I’ve had working on music so far. This EP is very different from my usual stuff. It doesn’t take itself seriously at all and has allowed me to play around with my funnier, sillier self.”
