“Pussytalk” by Queendom

Mumbai vocal trio Queendom – comprising Ananya Sharma, Brecilla D’souza and Damini Gautam – head to Ahmedabad’s Compass Box Studio to record their unfiltered new song “Pussytalk.” Conversational, satirical and jazz-infused, the song soars as it progresses, with the voices in an ebb and flow as they pose questions about everything from slut-shaming to the patriarchy. At the end of it, Queendom is clear that they’ll have each other’s backs.

“Pyaar Dobara Hua” by Bajje Squad, Thomson Andrews

Mumbai producer duo Bajje Squad team up once again with Thomson Andrews for a glimmering new Hindi electronic song called “Pyaar Dobara Hua.” The follow-up to their 2022 collaboration “High On Feel,” Bajje Squad and Andrews aim for straight-up club banger territory, complete with tunneling melodies, four-on-the-floor beats and soulful vocal excursions.

“Running In The Same Space” by Lady Kash

Singaporean-Indian hip-hop artist Lady Kash brings her signature snarling energy to her latest single “Running In The Same Space,” which also features vocals from Laya and ornate production from U.K. producer A.k.ashhh. Released via Kash’s label AKASHIK, the song is a quick take from Kash about her state of mind and the importance of clarity, complete with references to Led Zeppelin.

Pilot by DLT Mob/Various Artists

Bengaluru crew DLT Mob – comprising rappers, composers and producers who hold down corporate jobs but also write and perform hip-hop – have released their debut mixtape Pilot. The 11-track tape is described as a “perfect storm of politically charged messages and raw emotions, tackling themes such as the grind of corporate life, the relentless race against time, insecurities, and the inner struggles of being an adult.” Artists like Circle Tone, Akx, Acharya, Agaahi Raahi, Adam Bo, Faizan, Zinda Battery, Afeef and Paras are featured across the mixtape, each one setting a high bar for underground hip-hop from Bengaluru.

“Kahan” by Aanchal Shrivastava and Kanishk Seth

Mumbai-based singer-composer Aanchal Shrivastava and singer-producer/composer Kanishk Seth duet in the sweetest way possible on their song “Kahan,” singing about unsaid feelings in matters of the heart. “Awake” by Chazz Bhalla

New Delhi producer, vocalist and guitarist Chazz Bhalla aka Chaitanya Bhalla has been part of bands that range from metal to rock to ska and everything in between. Although situated in the electronic space, “Awake” also digs into a hypnotic beat and vocal hook.

“Modern Art” by Anchit Magee

Singer-songwriter Anchit Magee turns up with upbeat, fuzzy rock on his new single “Modern Art.” The choppy rhythmic work is some parts nostalgic as well as modern, with Magee wearing his heart on his sleeve about the kind of commitment he wants to show to a romantic interest. The two-and-a-half-minute song gets even more punch from bassist Aum Chandran and drummer Madhav Mehta.
