“It’s You and Your Eyes” by Moli

Multi-instrumentalist and experimental artist/filmmaker Moli aka Anmol Gupta takes a deep trip down his psyche on “It’s You and Your Eyes,” positing views on life as we know it to begin and end. With the sonics ranging from early Tame Impala to The Flaming Lips to so much more happening in the striking visuals, in which Moli is drenched in paint, dresses up as a clown and even takes on the role of an ascetic.

“Wanna Get Away With You” by Nutana Mohan

Valentine’s Day might have passed by last month, but Hyderabad singer-songwriter Nutana Mohan knows that any good love song can transcend calendar events. Her latest song “Wanna Get Away With You” has a little bit of English, but predominantly lifts the veil on a love story between two newlyweds, with traditional elements coming with her classical vocal harmonies and violin. The song is produced by Bharath Manchiraju and features Telugu lyrics written by Kittu Vissapragada.

“Softboi” by Tanya Shanker

Bengaluru singer-songwriter Tanya Shanker puts out a wishlist for what she looks for in a partner on her latest single “Softboi.” The 17-year-old pop artist balances modern pop themes about toxic masculinity with her inimitable powerhouse vocals, even if they’re a bit understated on this ballad. Co-composed and produced by Richard Andrew, the song comes with a music video in which Shanker finds an ideal Valentine’s Day date after a displeasing encounter.

“The Wolf Among Sheep” by Eternal Returns

Thane metallers Eternal Returns are aiming big as they break into a new bracket with their song and music video for “The Wolf Among Sheep.” The band – comprising vocalist Narendra Patel, guitarist and bassist Harsh Makwana and Ukrainian drummer Viktor Lytvynov – journeys through gnashing extreme metal, dip into a bit of modern groove metal and throw in a searing solo for good measure. The music video features a story of a woman protagonist who strikes back against harassment, with footage of the band performing.  The track is part of their upcoming album Hunchback Hatred, releasing via ItalianWormholedeath Records.

“Digits” by Reyaan Luthra, K4Y, Phaser Beats

Hyderabad/New Delhi-bred artist Reyaan Luthra turns up with trap and hip-hop on an urgent level on his song “Digits,” featuring fellow Hyderabad-based rapper K4Y over glimmering production from Phaser Beats. Luthra, who has been releasing music since 2021, navigates trying to protect himself from unhealthy relationships.

“Aadatein” by Jay Rana and Skopos ft. Vanishree Sahu, Sumira Thakur

New Delhi producer-composer friends Jay Rana and Skopos leap into cinematic, brooding new music with their Hindi-English song “Aadatein,” sung by Vanishree Sahu and Sumira Thakur. Featuring lyrics written by Akanksha Sethi and Neha Nazneen, the song trudges at a hypnotic, club-friendly pace with the producers adding subtler shades of Indian elements like tabla.

“Vicious Cycle” by Zachary Ray ft. Shreya Bhattacharya

Boston/Mumbai-based artist Zachary Ray teams up once again with vocalist Shreya Bhattacharya for a shimmering take on a somber subject – trauma, addiction and its negative effects on one’s mental health. Ray, who previously teamed up with Bhattacharya on “Cloud 9,” crafts slick electronic-pop that draws from synthwave at times for an emotive release.

“Flex” by Shivank, Someone Else, Sketch Dreams

Jammu-based rapper Shivank teams up with Chennai-based beatsmith Someone Else for Hindi drill on “Flex,” which is part of their collaborative project called Sketch Dreams. For the EDM-favored styles of Someone Else aka Jessenth Ebenezer, “Flex” puts the producer in a new space of slick 808s, although there are a few flourishes that Shivank rises up to match with his lightning-speed flow.
