Stay tuned for young-adult dramedies and emotional roller-coasters set to premiere this fortnight
Divyenndu and Radhika Madan in a still from 'Feels Like Ishq' on Netflix.
Feels Like Ishq is a rom-com anthology series made up of six stories of Millennial and Gen Z young adults. From the trailer, it seems like this potpourri of emotions will take us through the laughs, tears and butterflies of serendipitous modern love stories. The series is directed by a band of coveted new-age directors including Tahira Kashyap (Sharma Ji ki Beti), Ruchir Arun (Little Things, What the Folks) and Anand Tiwari (Bandish Bandits). We will see an ensemble cast of Radhika Madan, Rohit Saraf, Amol Parashar and Kajol Chug, among others.
Watch Feels Like Ishq from July 23rd on Netflix.
Another dramedy lined up this month is Mimi starring Kriti Sanon (Bareilly ki Barfi) and Pankaj Tripathi (Mirzapur). Sanon plays a surrogate mother who lands up in a difficult situation after the adoptive family refuses the baby mid-pregnancy. What follows after is a whole lot of confusion and drama. The trailer is quite promising and brings in a new perspective – a signature style of production house Maddock Films (Bala, Stree).
Watch Mimi on July 30th on Netflix.
Exploring the weird side of the Internet, writer Mrighdeep Singh Lamba (Fukrey, Roohi) and director Simarpreet Singh (Stags) bring the Fukrey energy to screen as Manjot Singh and Varun Sharma unite onscreen once again. Mind you, this is definitely not a ‘internet-is-the-doom-of-humanity’ show at all. The word ‘chutzpah’ means audacity and that is exactly what we are in for — a set of five youngsters, each one having a different and audacious experience on the internet.
Watch Chutzpah from July 23rd on SonyLIV.
This TVF engineering college dramedy is back with another season of hostel madness. Starring Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger) and Ahsaas Channa (Girls Hostel), TVF regulars, the second installment of this mini-series fast-forwards the freshman to seniors and packs a whole new set of adventures and comical situations.
Watch Hostel Daze S2 from July 23rd on Amazon Prime Video.
Actor-turned-producer Esha Deol makes her comeback with the emotionally compelling drama Ek Duaa. Directed by Raj Kamal Mukherjee and produced by Deol, the story is about a mother, Abida, who fights for gender equality and acceptance for her daughter who is shunned by her conservative family.
Watch Ek Duaa on July 26th on Voot.
