Mumbai electronica producer Sanaya Ardeshir to release video for the title track from her latest EP 'Slybounce'
Mumbai-based producer Sanaya Ardeshir, who performs under the alias Sandunes, is all set to release the music video for the title track off her EP Slybounce, the follow up to her debut album Everbridge, which released in 2013. The song, which features a drum track, synthesizer and Mumbai-based Sohrab Nicholson on vocals, marks Ardeshier’s move towards a more organic electronic sound. Says Ardeshir, “After “Good To You,” I was really excited to work on something where the idea resonates through both the song and video.” The term “slybounce” refers to the phenomenon of making an exit from social situations without bidding farewell, explains Ardeshir.
The video, directed by Sachin Pillai, features a protagonist who moves from one party to another, trying to bridge the disconnect between events that unfold around him and his own internal conflict. Adds the producer, “The video follows a young man who’s slightly misunderstood. The story is abstract and open to interpretation. It may not involve the actual act of slybouncing, but metaphorically, he’s just not present.”
