The gig season just got a new entrant. The first edition of The New Wave Musicfest will be held in Goa on November 15th and 16th this year. The festival will be spread across two days and three stages, giving audiences a choice of artists ranging from rock, punk and indie acts. Organized by Mumbai-based independent label and gig organizers Ennui.BOMB, the New Wave Music includes a headlining performance by Japanese pop punk band Shonen Knife.
So far, this year’s lineup has six international artists such as Malaysia-based rock band Kyoto Protocol, Myanmar-based rock/punk outfit Rebel Riot, Nepal-based punk band Youth Unite and over 20 Indian acts including Delhi-based psychedelic rock band Peter Cat Recording Co., electro rock band Sky Rabbit, Delhi-based indie rock band The Vinyl Records, Delhi-based rock ‘n roll band The Shakey Rays and Bengaluru post rock band Space Behind The Yellow Room, among others. Additional international and Indian acts, along with tickets and venue details are yet to announced.
