As Indian artists venture further into the world of international collaborations, Mumbai-based vocalist Akasa Singh is the latest to join the club. In an initiative by Sony Music U.S.A and Sony Music India’s A&R teams, Singh features on a new version of Latin pop icon Ricky Martin’s hit track “Vente Pa’ Ca.”

“Ricky Martin is a legend and working with him was a dream,” says Singh who has previously featured on online platform Being Indian’s viral tracks “Judaai” and “Jugni Ji.” “When I heard the song for the first time, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.” The track has a strong core of reggaeton and infuses Martin’s signature dance pop vibe with Singh’s powerful Hindi vocals. “The hook stays with you long after you are done listening and that’s what I love about the song,” Singh adds.

“Vente Pa’ Ca,” which translates to “Come Here,” was originally released on September 23rd 2016 in Spanish with Colombian singer-songwriter Maluma on guest vocals. The song has since gone on to become a global collaborative project; several different English versions exist, featuring artists from various countries. Some of the artists featured include Australian pop singer Delta Goodrem, K-pop South Korean singer Wendy and Taiwanese pop singer A-Lin.
