Nora Fatehi and Jason Derulo Turn Up The Heat in ‘Snake’ Video

Dancer, actor and singer teams up with the pop/R&B hitmaker for a Middle East-influenced seductive song

Pop hitmaker Jason Derulo joins India-based actor, dancer and singer Nora Fatehi on the song “Snake,” which comes with a tantalizing music video.

The song, released via Warner Music and recorded in Los Angeles, is one Fatehi calls her “biggest international collaboration.” While there’s plenty of suggestive lyrics to keep listeners hooked with Fatehi’s chorus, Derulo’s lyrics even carry a reference to tandoori food in Mumbai, all of it going over beats that are a nod to Fatehi’s Moroccan and Middle Eastern heritage.

The team working with Fatehi and Derulo on the track includes producer and songwriter Tommy Brown aka TBHits (whose credits include K-pop act Seventeen, Ariana Grande, Victoria Monet and more), producers Leather Jacket and Glitch. Songwriters credited on “Snake” include Fatehi, Derulo, TBHits, Leonard Lowman aka Skeez, Marquez Parker, Courtlin Jabrae and Pacific-Joshua Zagabe.

Fatehi says in a statement, “I’m thrilled to present ‘Snake’ to the world alongside the very talented Jason Derulo. This project has been a labor of love and a beautiful way for me to unite cultures and create something truly magical. Working with a world-renowned producer like Tommy Brown and his team on a track like this is something I’ve always wanted to do in my music career and I’m excited for the audience to see all the hard work and passion we’ve poured onto this project. This will be the first time the audience experiences my work in such an urban exotic R&B zone and I can’t wait for people to play it loud and share the love!”

In addition to leading the song as a singer, Fatehi’s signature belly dance moves take centerstage as well in the video for “Snake,” directed by Moroccan Abderrafia El Abdioui and choreographed by India-based Rajit Dev. The visual was filmed in Marrakesh.

Fatehi previously teamed up with Nigerian pop star CKay on the song “It’s True,” a nocturnal slow-burn jam that sees the Indian film industry starlet singing in English and Hindi.
