DJ-producers such as Fedde Le Grand and Gordo join hip-hop heavyweights like DIVINE, Raftaar, KR$NA and more at the two-day event
Although it sounds like an intense way to say it, there’s been quite a vengeance in the manner music festivals have returned to calendars in India. Case in point, SteppinOut Music Festival’s mammoth edition that is set to take place in Bengaluru on December 10th and 11th.
The festival is putting together an (alarmingly) ambitious lineup comprising over 90 artists – a majority of them DJs – across five stages. The headliners include party-starting DJ-producer Steve Aoki, the India debut of hip-hop star Offset (formerly of Migos), electronic artist Solomun, trap, future bass frontrunner Troyboi, electronic/hip-hop DJ-producer Gordo (previously known as Carnage) and Dutch house DJ Fedde Le Grand.
While Troyboi promises an “experience of a lifetime” with his set according to his press statement, Aoki is more looking forward to his return after eight years to India. “I have to say, the crowd here is absolutely electric. The raw energy that they exude is incomparable! The first time I performed here I was blown off my feet by the response that I got from my fans. Bengaluru is well known for its music scene and I am delighted to be back here again,” Aoki says in a statement.
Indian heavy-hitters at SteppinOut Music Festival include rap star such as DIVINE, Raftaar and KR$NA, Punjabi artists like Harrdy Sandhu, Aastha Gill and Wazir Patar, plus Hindi pop artists Lucky Ali and Anuv Jain. While there’s predominantly hip-hop and electronic music on the lineup, representing the Bollywood spectrum are sibling singer duo Sukriti & Prakriti and singer-songwriter Jasleen Royal.
