unnamed (1)Pepsi MTV Indies, the channel for alternative music and its partner, Pepsi are on a nationwide hunt for the next big indie band in India through Pepsi Unbox. This program will give an opportunity to one deserving Indian band to perform at this year’s Music Matters Live festival in Singapore, one of Asia’s biggest independent music festivals. In addition to this, the selected band will get to attend a conference at the Music Matters Academy to meet with influential names in the music business.

The Music Matters Live festival features indie bands and artists from around the world on one platform, with its fifth edition set to happen in Singapore from May 20th to 23rd, 2015. Artists like Mumbai electro rock band Pentagram, rock band Indus Creed, also from Mumbai, and Delhi-based electro producer Dualist Inquiry have previously represented India at the festival. Also, this year’s Music Matters conference will include appearances by many heavy-hitters in the music industry, like Universal Music Group International President Sandy Monteiro and record producing legend Terry Ellis (known for working with bands like Led Zeppelin, Roxy Music and Jethro Tull).

Aspiring bands can submit their entries here. The last date for submissions is April 22nd, 2015. All entries will be judged by a jury consisting of Indian indie music stalwarts like Ankur Tewari, as well as music marketing experts from Pepsi and Music Matters executives from Hong Kong and Singapore.
