If there’s a reason for the quality of this page to have been significantly reduced, you can comfortably rest the blame on Desktop Tower Defense. This is perhaps the most time-wastingly addictive game ever which well, almost prevented the writing of this review. The objective of this game is simple, stop enemies known as “creeps” from reaching specific points on the map by building and upgrading towers to shoot them down. Sounds simple? It is, but not for long. Add in a mix of different creeps invulnerable to different tower types and you have a layer of strategy that adds the right amount of complexity. Sure it might not have the graphics of a Resident Evil 5 or the intricacy of a Dawn of War II but it makes up for it in sheer hand-drawn charm and levels of addiction that can only be described as ban-worthy.

The best part? It’s free and playable on your browser so as long as it supports flash. So go ahead, check it out, but don’t blame us if you find yourself being scolded at work for the lack of productivity or realise that your social life is as existent as that imaginary friend you had in third grade. You have been warned.
