The 14th edition of Pro Audio, Lighting and Music [PALM] Expo takes place in Mumbai this week, with a host of workshops, clinics, exhibitions, competitions and live performances. This year, the three-day expo has also tied up with booking agency PartyMap to host a DJ workshop, conference and talent hunt called DJ Soundscape, headed by Mumbai DJ Reji Ravindran on May 29th and 30th.

Also running across three days are live performances at the live arena. Last year, artists such as Chennai prog /thrash metal band Blind Image, extreme metal band Demonic Resurrection’s guitarist Sahil Makhija and UK guitarist Andy James performed at PALM Expo. This year, the lineup includes percussionist Sivamani and instrumental rock act Blackstratblues who are performing on the first day. Composer and jazz guitarist Dhruv Ganekar and funk/jazz band Hipnotribe will also perform.

Bands performing on day two include Mumbai punk rockers The Lightyears Explode, alt rock act Ankur Tewari & the Ghalat Family and jazz keyboardist Louiz Banks, who also performed at the expo last year. Day three gets a tad louder, with Mumbai metallers Bhayanak Maut and groove metal band Providence, as well as pop rock bands Spud in the Box and The Colour Compound.

The PALM Expo will be held from the 29th-31st of May at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon East, Mumbai.
