Park Seo-joon’s New Drama ‘Surely Tomorrow’ Will Release this December

Park Seo-joon stars as Lee Gyeong-do in a romantic comedy that highlights how you can't always close the book on love

Park Seo-joon makes his K-drama comeback following the success of Gyeongseong Creature (2023-2024) with Surely Tomorrow. This new series, directed by Lim Hyun-wook, marks the Chungmuro actor and hallyu star’s return to romantic comedies, building on the legacy he has established as a romantic hero in previous hits like She Was Pretty (2015), Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016-2017), Fight for My Way (2017), What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim (2018), and Itaewon Class (2020).

Surely Tomorrow captures the endearing messiness of love’s ups and downs. Two people, tangled in their emotions and circumstances, keep finding their way back to each other in a whirlwind push-and-pull that’s both intense and addictive.

Park plays Lee Gyeong-do, an entertainment journalist who’s just trying to get by. His life’s a routine of work and repeat. But his love is a different story altogether. He’s been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Seo Ji-woo, played by Won Ji-an. They’ve fallen head over heels twice, only to crash and burn each time. But life has a way of throwing curveballs. When Gyeong-do starts investigating a celebrity scandal, he runs into a familiar face — Ji-woo, whose now-husband is implicated in the same case. If anything, it’s the universe’s way of reuniting two old flames. The question is whether they’ll get burned again or find their footing this time.

Essentially, Surely Tomorrow is a beautiful exploration of human connections in a mix of lighthearted moments and emotional drama, portraying the complicated relationship between Gyeong-do and Ji-woo.

In a recent behind-the-scenes clip, Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an give us a glimpse into their playful dynamic on set, trading smiles and fun moments. The clip wraps up with Park Seo-joon saying, “The wait for Gyeong-do is almost over. See you soon!”

Surely Tomorrow is set to premiere this winter in December. While the exact release date is still under wraps, the JTBC drama will be streaming on Prime Video in select regions worldwide.
