Readers can now design their own cover, a select few will make it to the website this month

Cover art designed by Kamal Singh

This month, as ROLLING STONE India turns 6, we invite artists/ illustrators/designers and readers to create their own cover of the magazine. Starting today, we will feature cover art specially created for ROLLING STONE India’s Cover As Art Project.

This month’s cover features artwork by Delhi-based guitarist and visual artist Kamal Singh, from lo-fi rock band Hoirong, who was previously part of Bengaluru post rock band Lounge Piranha. Other contributors to this month’s Cover As Art project include Delhi groove metal band Undying Inc’s bassist Reuben Bhattacharya, graphic design veteran E. Suresh and artist and animator Prashant Miranda, whose artwork for Suraj Mani’s solo rock album The Tattva Trip won The JD Rock Award for Best Album Artwork last month.

Guidelines for ROLLING STONE Cover As Art Project:

If an illustration of an international musician is being used, it will have to be an original piece of work. It cannot be a copy of an existing picture as they might be copyrighted images.

The size of the cover is 27 cm (height) X 21 cm (width).

Indian motifs and a connection to music always work well for the cover art, although it is not mandatory for the cover to include an Indian theme.

Send us your own cover art at editor@rollingstone-india.com

Select artworks will be featured on the ROLLING STONE India website this month
