Parx Anthem Hunt Won by Bengaluru Musician Abhilash Lakra

The nationwide contest received over 100 entries from artists across India; winner to be felicitated at the grand finale in Mumbai tomorrow

From metal and jazz to acoustic pop and soft rock–the Parx Anthem Hunt in partnership with Rolling Stone India witnessed a genre-bending array of entries from artists across India over the past one month. The nationwide competition invited producers/musicians/electronic artists to send in a 40-second instrumental track keeping in mind Parx’s image of a young, confident fashion brand. Over 100 tracks were received out of which a composition by Bengaluru musician Abhilash Lakra has been picked as the winner. The top six shortlisted tracks include those by Siddharth Barooa (Guwahati), Sholo Thong (Dimapur), Eeshan Tripathi (Mumbai), Wangching Konyak (Naginimora) and Yoon Narzary (Guwahati).

The entries were judged by a panel of judges comprising actor and musician Luke Kenny, guitarist-producer Func aka Randolph Correia [of Shaa’ir + Func fame] and Rolling Stone India Deputy Editor Nirmika Singh.

Lakra’s track will now be used as the official brand anthem for Parx with due credits. The takeaway also includes an exclusive Parx gift hamper and a bumper cash prize. The winner will be styled by Parx at the the anthem launch party at Hard Rock Café, Worli, Mumbai on October 6th. This grand finale will also feature performances by Bengaluru psychedelic/prog band Parvaaz (who won Sennheiser Top 50 last week) and Kenny’s rock band.

In a run-up to the finale, Parx organized gigs in Pune, featuring Mumbai folk-rock act Anand Bhaskar Collective, and Gurgaon, which saw a performance New Delhi fusion act Advaita.
