Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's latest team-up is a disappointment
Peter Travers says that while Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are one of the best teams in movies, their remake of the Sixties vampire soap Dark Shadows is only entertaining for about 40 minutes. Burton delivers luscious visuals and Depp is typically freaky and funny, but ultimately, the plot spins its wheels for well over an hour after the novelty wears off.
Dark Shadows marks Burton and Depp’s eighth movie together (the full list is: Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Alice and Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride and Dark Shadows).
