Re-boot shines at times, but very similar to last Spidey franchise
It’s the movie to see this Fourth of July weekend: The Amazing Spider-Man. And while the latest installment of this superhero franchise delivers a few memorable moments ”“ mostly thanks to stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, plus the directorial effots of Marc Webb ”“ ROLLING STONE’s Peter Travers says that there isn’t much to distinguish it from the Tobey Maguire-led trilogy that ended just five years ago.
“Am I saying The Amazing Spider-Man is bad?” asks Travers. “No. I’m just saying, why did we need it? Why are you going to see it?”
