The decibel levels inside and outside Mehboob Studios seemed to rise relentlessly on the day of the Harley Rock Riders Season IV finale. While bikers rode in and showed off their choppers outside Studio 3, six bands powered through their performances on stage. The bike and music festival opened with the Find Your Freedom contest, a band competition, with three bands ”“ Delhi experimental metal band Third Eye Destruction, Assam-based glam metal band Filharmonix and Chennai rock ’n roll band Grey Shack ”“ competing for the top spot. While Filharmonix guitarist Anurag Saikia bagged a Gibson axe after winning Guitarist of the Year, Chennai band Grey Shack won the the Band of the Year title, which snagged them a slot to play at European Bike Week 2014 in Austria.

The finale closed with performances by Mumbai hard rock band Overhung, Chennai alt rock band Junkyard Groove and Mumbai electro pop band Shaa’ir + Func. While Shaa’ir + Func played their first Mumbai gig since March, Junkyard Groove were launching their second full-length album, Accidental Hero [download here] and Overhung were raring to perform following their seven-month hiatus.
