Stage 3 at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai saw lights, sound and awards for the best in Indian alternative music on February 22nd. Despite no clean sweeps or sore losers [alt rock band Split’s vocalist Garreth D’Mello said after the event: “It’s just nice to get the exposure and see your name up here.”], the night celebrated, through performances, speeches and awards, the best in Indian rock. Mumbai punk rock band Blek opened the evening’s performances followed by a half-hour set by jam band, Something Relevant. The Rolling Stone Jam Sessions were one of the highlights of the evening with artists covering tracks by veteran Indian bands.
