While Mumbai dance punk trio BLEK took home the Best Emerging Artist award [and a bottle of Jack] at the JD Rock Awards earlier this year, we’ve come across a new crop of bands who stand a chance to receive the award this year. Kicking off the first emerging artist showcase in Pune, we picked local acts, including stoner/prog rock band Drawing Short Straws, post rock band A Mutual Question and progressive rock band Pinnochio’s Moment of Clarity and Mumbai’s emerging acts such as garage/blues rock act Bone Broke and singer-songwriter Prathamesh Tambe.
Following this month’s showcase at Hard Rock Café Pune, we travel to Bengaluru next month, followed by Delhi in January. Watch this space for more details.
