Dressed sharply in Parx, Benguluru musician Abhilash Lakra was all smiles as he received his prize at the Parx Anthem Hunt Finale on October 6^th at Hard Rock Café Worli, Mumbai. Among over a hundred entries received from across the country for the contest, Lakra’s 40-second instrumental track was selected as an anthem for the clothing brand. The young musician also received a cash amount of Rs 75,000 and a gift hamper as part of the prize.

The top six shortlisted tracks include those by Siddharth Barooa (Guwahati), Sholo Thong (Dimapur), Eeshan Tripathi (Mumbai), Wangching Konyak (Naginimora) and Yoon Narzary (Guwahati). The entries were judged by a panel of judges comprising actor and musician Luke Kenny, guitarist-producer Func aka Randolph Correia [of Shaa’ir + Func fame] and Rolling Stone India Deputy Editor Nirmika Singh. In a run-up to the finale, Parx organized gigs in Pune, featuring Mumbai folk-rock act Anand Bhaskar Collective, and Gurgaon, which saw a performance New Delhi fusion act Advaita.

Parx Anthem Hunt finale saw a huge turnout, with popular names in both music and fashion circuits as well as fans of the performing bands in attendance. The evening kicked off with a spellbinding performance by Bengaluru psychedelic/prog band Parvaaz, who also won the nationwide band hunt Sennheiser Top 50 last month. The band, led by the prodigious but unassuming frontman Khalid Ahamed, performed their most popular compositions such as “Gul Gulshan” and “Roz Roz.” Well-known actor-singer Luke Kenny took the stage in the latter half of the evening and performed classic rock hits with his four-member band.
