On Wednesday night, Mumbai dialed up the Sixties with the Taj Gateway Revolutions finale, organized in association with Rolling Stone India. Three bands including Grey Shack from Chennai, Think Floyd from Delhi and Luke Kenny LIVE from Mumbai performed tribute sets at Hard Rock Café in Worli as Taj Gateway Revolutions made its Mumbai debut.

The venue was packed even as the first band Grey Shack took to stage, reliving Led Zeppelin classics like “Ramble On,” and “The Immigrant Song.”  Drummer Ramkumar Kanakarajan even attempted the ambitious 10-minute drum solo in “Moby Dick,” but it was the audience’s demand for “Whole Lotta Love” that really gained the band the raucous applause they well deserved.

Next up, Think Floyd brought psychedelic rock back to life, seamlessly transitioning from one Pink Floyd song to the next until they had run through most of the tracks from The Dark Side of The Moon. Saxophonist Abhay Sharma even flawlessly replicated the vocal improvisation on “The Great Gig in the Sky,” while vocalist Chintan Kalra had the audience singing along to classics like “Mother” and “Comfortably Numb.”

The last act of the night was Luke Kenny LIVE, who paid tribute to The Doors. Kenny egged the crowd to sing along as his band performed hits like “Light My Fire” and “Riders on the Storm,” wrapping up the night with “The End.”
