Mumbai comedy rock band Workshop are still working their way through a lineup change, after guitarist Devesh Dayal left the band in May last year. Frontman Sahil Makhija roped in former guitarist, Daniel Rego, who announced his departure from extreme metal band Demonic Resurrection in January. Workshop, completed by drummer Hamza Kazi (from prog rock band Coshish) and bassist Aditya Kadam (who performs with singer-songwriter Winit Tikoo), played an hour-long set comprising songs such as “She Folked Up My Jazz,” “Cookie Monster,” “Made Love To The Dragon” and “Bunty Aur Malika Sherwath” from their two full-length albums, Khooni Murga and Made Love To The Dragon. Besides cracking jokes about Delhi chauvinism and bus drivers, Makhija got the crowd to sing along to songs such as “Pudhe Sarka” at the Acoustic Tuesdays gig at the suburban Mumbai restaurant, The Little Door. Workshop also executed an acoustic versions of metal-leaning songs “Gajanand Dhige” and “Khooni Murga” to please headbangers who showed up for show.
