The writer, lyricist, vocalist and actor will be performing across 10 cities early next year with his band
After spending a year or so touring around the country, Ballimaaraan, the music project by lyricist, writer, singer and actor Piyush Mishra goes international, with a 10-city tour of the U.S. from January 27th to February 18th.
Founded by guitarist Nishant Agarwal and percussionist Jayant Patnaik, Ballimaaraan’s playful, thought-provoking and folk-fusion driven performances have certainly garnered interest from the Indian community in the U.S.. Atlanta-based company Para Share Entertainments is the one taking a bet on this growing demand for Indian artists across styles to have a ready audience in America.
Piyush Mishra’s Ballimaaraan U.S. tour kicks off on January 27th in Houston and stops by cities like Washington D.C. (January 28th), Detroit (February 2nd), Chicago (February 3rd), Atlanta (February 4th), Seattle (February 9th), San Jose (February 10th), Dallas (February 16th), Connecticut (February 17th) and closes in New Jersey on February 18th.
Mishra says he’s looking forward to the new year with this debut U.S. run of shows with Ballimaaraan. He adds in a statement, “The response so far has been amazing and we are all very sure that it is going to be an unforgettable experience for the audience and us as well. Since its inception in 2016, the band has been receiving immense love and to see the overseas audience excited feels extremely surreal.”
The artist points to the universality of their performances that he feels allows it to be adapted anywhere in the world. “The songs we perform have themes that relate to everyone and are not restricted by any borders be it geographical or psychological. I think that is one of the main reasons that the audience from all across the globe will connect with the band. It’s going to be a very magical concert series,” he adds.
For Para Share Entertainments, this tour comes on the back of organizing several theater shows as well as classical concerts by the likes of vocalists Kaushiki Chakraborty and Rahul Deshpande over the last five years. The firm’s CEO and founder Harshad Parashare says he’s been a thespian since childhood, which drove him to produce theater and performing arts shows around the world, including Marathi plays. He says in a statement, “We handpick each show and curate it to not just entertain our audience but also expand their horizons by providing unique and engaging experiences.”
With Ballimaaraan, he hopes that the “rebellious vibe of the songs and the socially conscious messaging is something that everyone will appreciate.” Tour partners include Trinity Entertainment and Strategic Consultants along with art and entertainment company Tamboo.
