Polyphia Set for India Tour

The Texas instrumental rock band will perform in five cities, including an appearance at Vh1 Supersonic in Pune

After being announced for their India debut at Vh1 Supersonic in February, American band Polyphia have added more India shows following the two-day festival. The Texan band ”“ known for their groovy, melodic blend of hip-hop, modern prog and math rock, will also perform in Silchar, Bengaluru, New Delhi and Guwahati between February 16th and February 24th.

The tour ”“ put together by Bengaluru-based events and artist company Bohemian Live ”“ will include club shows in Bengaluru (February 21st) and New Delhi (February 22nd) supported by sitarist Rishabh Seen’s Sitar Metal. Open-air sets include Supersonic (between February 16th and 17th), the National Institute of Technology, Silchar’s annual rock and metal showcase Thundermarch (February 18th) and Guwahati gig series G-Shock Fireball (February 24th).

Polyphia have been in the world of djent and instrumental prog since they released their 2013 EP Inspire, but more recently gained major global acclaim for their third album New Levels New Devils, which leaned towards smooth hip-hop breaks and beat structures over flittering math rock harmonies. The album, which included songs produced by hip-hop beatmakers like Judge (who’s worked with trap trio Migos) and Y2K, certainly set them apart from their peers in rock bands such as CHON and Covet, who also feature on New Levels New Devils. Currently enjoying chart success and millions of hits for songs like “G.O.A.T.” and “O.D.,” Polyphia will make their way to India following their U.K. tour in early February.
