The song arrives just ahead of the highly-anticipated cricket match between India and Pakistan
After a few Bollywood projects together, singer-composer and lyricist Prashant Ingole teams up with Vishal Dadlani for a can’t-fail new earworm to cheer Team India at the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup.
The song “India India” is releasing just in time, as the Men in Blue take on long-standing rivals Pakistan on October 14th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ingole, for his part, brings a crisp and memorable hook to the song, along with verses drawing from his lifelong love for cricket. Dadlani delivers it all just right, in his distinctive sense of urgency and celebration.
Ingole says in a statement, “As someone who holds India close to their heart, I’ve always found myself passionately chanting ‘India India.’ Back in May 2023, something magical happened, and I had the privilege of writing and composing this song. [It] is my gift from one fan to all the others. It’s not just a song; it’s an emotion, an expression of my deep love and devotion for the game and our beloved country.” Dadlani adds, “It’s always an honor to cheer for my country. I live and breathe for India, and I hope this song energizes my fellow Indians to cheer even louder.” The high-energy song is produced by Jackie Vanjari, and the project at large is produced by Amardeep Rana and Adhish Rana from ADR Media Production.
While it’s an independent release for Ingole, who has put out songs like “Tu Goa Mein Hai,” he’s worked with Dadlani on a few film songs. Most notable of those include “Malhari” from Bajirao Mastani, “Ziddi Dil” from Mary Kom and “Aila Re” from Malaal.
