Prateek Kuhad and Calum Scott have been announced as special guests for Ed Sheeran’s + – = ÷ x 2024 India Tour stop next month.
The news was announced by event promoters and producers at BookMyShow on Monday, February 12th.
Sheeran’s concert is scheduled to be held on March 16th at the iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai.
According to the press release, the highlight of this concert isn’t just the star-studded line-up but also the “introduction of a 360-degree circular and revolving stage” which contains “a cutting-edge production set-up” that promises to captivate audiences in an experience never witnessed on Indian soil thus far.
“As a constellation of a state-of-the-art sound system and immersive visual displays orbit the stage, the giant circular ‘halo screen’ positioned in the centre of the stage will add to the striking play of light, sound and visual aesthetic offering a truly immersive experience.”
The event will also boast a merchandise store where fans can purchase “stylish hoodies to cool t-shirts, caps, tote bags and a variety of trendy accessories”.
This isn’t the first time Sheeran is set to perform in India, the 32-year-old “Thinking Out Loud” singer previously performed in India in 2015, also at Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai.
In November 2017, Sheeran returned for a second show at Jio World Garden in Bandra Kurla Complex. The latter took place despite Sheeran injuring himself in a bicycle accident roughly a month before the show and featured a supporting set from singer-songwriter Lauv, who’s now gone on to command his own following in India.
