Premiere: Amartya Bobo Rahut Sings for Life and Happiness on Acoustic Ditty ‘Yeh Jo Zindagi’

The Hindi song is the composer's first independent release of the year, coming nearly 12 months after his song "Noor-Kasauli"

After an eventful and release-filled couple of years as an independent artist, singer-songwriter Amartya Bobo Rahut seemed to have spent most of 2022 either working behind the scenes or just plain ol’ contented with life. In fact, his new Hindi song “Yeh Jo Zindagi” indicates it’s the latter.

The cheery acoustic-pop song — much in the vein of something we’d hear from The Beatles — is about where he is in life right now. He says, “I am in a happy place in life, so I wanted to make a song that reflects that state. ‘Yeh Jo Zindagi’ is a song that talks about life as it is beautiful and hopeful, and sometimes tough, but that again makes life so magnificent.”

In the span of three minutes, we see yet another side to Rahut’s versatility as a composer and songwriter, an acoustic guitar strumming brightly along to metaphors about abundance and desires. The bottom line, for Rahut, is “Jeene ko hi mili hai zindagi” (Life is given to us for living). A spiffy guitar solo is also injected into the fun song, which builds up to a clap-along section. It’s accompanied by an animated lyric video, which travels from different settings in nature — forests, rivers, waterfalls, fields of flowers — to show human beings living their best lives.

“Yeh Jo Zindagi” is Rahut’s first release of 2022, following his late 2021 idyllic release “Noor-Kasauli,” plus experimental songs like “Thikana” and his hit “Shaam Simti.”
