The emotive five-track EP features new songs as well as singles such as 'Stay' and 'Wander'

Over the last two years, Sidharth Nair has dug into his psyche for moody songs about loss, including his debut single “Wander” with fellow artist Rishab Ravi in February 2019. The Bengaluru-based Chennai-bred singer-songwriter bundles together all his experiences into his first EP In My Void, which released today.
Aided by producers such as Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy and Sivanesh Natarajan, plus Michael Timothy, songs like “Wander” reappear just as fresh, while “Summers & Storms” gets a late-night subtle electro-pop twist. He says, “Two years got me lots of time to experiment with different subgenres, collaborate with various musicians, play some great shows and festivals including [gig series] Sofar Chennai, [multi-city food festival] Zomaland and also meet so many people vibing to the sound and getting to know the emotions around.”
Nair says he channeled pop, folk and even a bit of progressive rock (“I spent most of my college covering and listening to Karnivool, TesseracT and other progressive bands,” the singer-songwriter explains) into In My Void, which shaped up with help from the producers. Through the course of five tracks, Nair bids farewell and absorbs his heartbreak on “Stay” featuring vocalist Nami Anand and eventually emerges with warmth and wisdom on the drama-tinged “Afterglow.”
With this set of songs now released in one collection, Nair has been working on two new tracks that are currently demos called “Find Me A Way To Hate” and “Until You Found Me.” He adds, “I’m looking forward to cutting out another EP real soon. We’re all set to track three new songs by this month end! Moving to Bangalore from Chennai made way to so much exposure and newer audiences. The support that I have been receiving to create and play more music has been immense.”
