Chennai singer-songwriter Sidharth Nair lays a saccharine croon over sweeping instrumentals on his latest track “Until you found me,” released with a tender music video.

The song follows up Nair’s EP In My Void, which released earlier this year and keeps intact the artist’s themes of intimate storytelling, mostly in matters of love. He says in a statement, “’Until you found me’ talks about things in life which are bound to happen no matter what. The people we meet, the experiences we walk through, the emotions we feel and how it all connects has always made me wonder how each of our stories are being developed on this planet.”

The gentle-paced pop song sees Nair being confessional, reminiscent and yearning. The artist brings together producer Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy, guitarist Rishab Ravi, keyboardist Nived N.P. and backing vocals from Kausthub Ravi for a poignant tune. The mood of the song is heightened by the video shot by Rithesh Rohan R in and around Chennai.

The director helms his first music video with “Until you found me,” which sees Nair and a female protagonist on the beach and also roaming a forest. Rohan says in a statement, “I got hooked onto the song the first time I heard it and could picture a lost, dreamy, moody vibe as I was listening to the lyrics which, coincidentally, Sid had envisioned as well.”

The video juxtaposes ideas of being confused along with contemplation, plus the hope that strikes through with sunlight and holding hands. Rohan adds, “The video was shot in natural light in two days with just a camera and a gimbal. It made me realize that one doesn’t really need much to create something beautiful.”
