It may be a surprise even to Indore-based producer Pranay Sharma aka MÜNE, but his distinctively chill style of music is finding its way on to yoga playlists on Spotify. He says, “I never thought that it will be a fit for yoga but I do know that my music is best for those sunset rides or when you need a break and just want to chill.”

He’s open to receiving comparisons to American electronic music producer duo Odesza – especially the way Sharma employs chopped vocal samples on his songs – but he’s so far happy to be releasing music via independent labels such as Lowly Palace and Chill Nation. Releasing his own music since 2017, the 25-year-old has now come out with his latest single “Silence.” He started on the instrumental parts for the track, but came across a voice while browsing through “vocal packs” available for producers online. Sharma says, “I got this vocal from a vocal pack, I found that vocal nature and lyrics are so relatable with my current situation so I decided to use it and made this song.”

The song is the sixth MÜNE single out this year, following the likes of “Blu Tail Fox,” “Meraki” and “Save You,” the last of which features American pop group RYYZN. Coming from a world of internet collaborations, Sharma says he still works on an Intel Pentium series producer rig. MÜNE barely gets interest to perform in India, but he’s happy to start with global listenership as well. “I think India is still developing in electronic music scene. My aim is to bring this change in the scene, and I want to inspire people that it doesn’t matter if you have great gear or not you can reach us or any country in this internet era, just keep your music unique and make quality content,” he says.
