Indore producer MÜNE aka Pranay Sharma is clear to say that his latest material is far away from his buoyant, club-friendly releases because he wanted to speak from the heart. The producer says his upcoming EP Emotions has been a cathartic and fulfilling experience creatively as well as personally. He adds, “They [the songs] aren’t defined by genre or category. They are pure feelings and pure music.”

The title track off the four-track EP is centered around piano and a wistful vocal melody, but no beats at all. Sharma says, “I just created what I was feeling and threw it all out on these tracks, which I was working on from the last 10 months.” As much as “Emotions” and the rest of the EP draws from his personal life, the producer counts electronic and pop artists such as the late Avicii and Lauv as influential for talking about mental wellbeing. “Avicii was and will always be my inspiration. He was talking about his mental health openly through his songs but unfortunately no one understood it. Avicii taught me that you can express your feelings through music.”

Other songs on Emotions (releasing on March 6th) include “Memories,” “F**k Negative Vibes” and “Mind Collision,” which see MÜNE take on different perspectives and emerge with clarity. He says, “I hope people will relate to it and they’re gonna feel my pain and emotions through it and I hope they bring peace to you as well.”
