Mark Ronson and Katy B Train With Athletes in ‘Anywhere in the World’

U.K. artists record new track for 2012 London Olympics and Coca-Cola

On “Anywhere in the World,” U.K. artists Mark Ronson and Katy B team up for a new track to celebrate the upcoming 2012 Olympics in London. Partnering with Coca-Cola, Ronson created the instrumental by recording athletes around the world, using sounds like Russian sprinter Kseniya Vdovina’s heartbeart and Great Britain table tennis player Darius Knight’s grunts and taps on the table. Katy B added vocals, giving the song a united, uplifting spirit. In line with Ronson’s source material, the video clip shows Katy B and Ronson performing the song interspersed with images of the athletes in action.

“Sport is music in the way that it has so many different natural rhythms,” says Ronson. “When I was recording the athletes, I wasn’t really thinking of them in terms of athletes performing a sport. I was thinking of them as people in an orchestra.”

“Anywhere in the World” is available on Coca-Cola’s website.
