The hip-hop artist teams up with producer Tzar to whip up food references galore on the new track
Hyderabad hip-hop artist 2much aka Sushel Peraboina’s new song “ Kutte Ki Dum” sees him speak his mind about self-acceptance especially when it comes to his lifelong love for food while still trying to be on a weight-loss journey.
Over a beat produced by Mumbai-based Tzar aka Akash Tripathi, 2much namedrops enough dishes to make anyone hungry, while still bringing the point home that he’s a slave to his habits. The hook references a Hindi saying about how a dog’s tail will never straighten and so, 2much admits he’s taking steps, but ultimately never shape up the way society expects him to. The rapper says, “This track’s all about my personal journey. I’ve been dealing with weight stuff for ages as an endomorph. But this year, I took charge, dropped about 20 kilos, and got into the fitness game. The song’s not about promoting an unhealthy lifestyle, just channeling the frustrations of societal pressures.”
In the video shot by filmmaker Umesh Mudhiraj, 2much roams restaurants in Hyderabad but also signs up for a gym membership. The rapper says making a video was a natural decision given the storytelling within the song. The best part, according to 2much was “filming on the streets, restaurants, etc., and getting reactions from random folks passing by.” He adds, “Oh, and swapping outfits in parking lots? Crazy fun, man.”
The artist, who has been releasing music since 2020 and gained a following for songs like “Koi Shaq Nahi” and “Schedule,” also had a previous song out this year, the breezy break-free tune “Khulke Jiyo!” 2much says about what’s coming up, “2024’s my year to go all-out consistent. Got tons of wild ideas, bilingual tracks, and a mix of vibes lined up. It’s gonna be a year packed with creativity and a relentless music grind. Get ready for a wild ride of non-stop musical madness.”
