Premiere: Metallers Alien Sky Cult Get Chaotic on ‘Inanimate’

On again, off again, call it what you want but New Delhi/North East metallers Alien Sky Cult still retain their metalcore meets post-hardcore edge on their latest song “Inanimate.” The song comes two years after their previous single “Last Stand,” which released in 2017.

The song features a slightly rejigged avatar of the band, comprising bassist Jishnu Chakraborty, guitarist Farhat Hussain and vocalist Edwin. The band says in a statement, “The song talks about our perspective of what has been the everchanging social construct of our society. How we have to question, educate and form factual opinions rather than dwell on the media. We live in a time where there is a huge divide with free thinkers and radicals. In our own way, we wanted to capture that.”

Formed in 2011, the band released their first EP You Are Not Alone in 2013 and are now prepping for more material. “We’re confident about the direction we have in our sound and the evolution we have had as a band since our first release,” the band says.
