The Chandigarh-based artist’s new Punjabi pop song brings in lyricist Hemant Vijh and producer-composer Agaazz, with actor-vlogger Satya Saggar playing the protagonist in the visual
Pop artist Shubham Semwal has steadily found his way around making enchanting, intimate and sometimes boisterous pop music, starting with his debut EP Elephant In The Room in 2020. With heartwarming songs like “Tishnagi,” “Asar Tera” and “Take Me Home (Pahadon Mein)” there were more love stories from the Chandigarh-based singer-composer.
Now, Semwal turns to Punjabi pop with his latest single “Dil Da Pecha,” which comes with a breakfree music video starring actor and vlogger Satya Saggar at his uninhibited best, wearing his heart on his sleeve. In the song, Semwal desires simplicity in matters of the heart.
He says in a statement, “I imagine the track will make you think how we’ve all grown tired of the endless swiping and messaging, the pressure to present the perfect online persona and the lack of genuine connection. I’d love for people to just get lost in the groove and realize that it is okay to take your time and wait for the right person to come along.”
He sings about mutual respect and understanding but also praises those who prefer singledom and get on the path of self-discovery in that process. “Dil Da Pecha” continues Semwal’s upbeat pop sensibilities, aided by producer-composer Agaazz and lyricist Hemant Vijh.
Later in 2023, Semwal plans to release his debut album, featuring songs in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
