On June 4th and 5th, the two-day jazz festival from Banyan Tree will be held at St. Andrews auditorium in Bandra, Mumbai. This will be the second edition of this event.
The festival opens on June 4th with the very versatile Indian American guitarist Prasanna. It will be a rare experience to watch and hear this amazing artist. Vocalist Jodi Fredericks’ quartet features Bas Toscani and trumpeter Ellister van der Moolen. Tenor saxophonist Ben van den Dungen, no stranger to Mumbai audiences performs with vocalist Deborah Carter to conclude the opening day.
Dutch tenor saxophonist Alexander Beets’ quintet features vocalist Paul van Kessel, bassist Nathalie Schaap and others. Expect this to be a lively set of jazz. Trumpet player Saskia Laroo’s band featuring Warren Byrd will play a set entitled Jazz Meets Hip-Hop, to conclude a unique mix of mainstream, contemporary and esoteric sounds.
With the high-quality lineup on show, this event promises to be a lively, enjoyable two days of international jazz.
