Preview: India Goes 3D – April 20-28, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi
Indo-German electronica relations get a boost with India Goes 3D
Cologne, the electronica capital of Germany, has showcased Indian artists such as Delhi’s Jalebee Cartel and Mumbai electro rock act Shaa’ir+Func since 2008. There have been other Indo-German connections that included the likes of Bangalore trip hop duo Sulk Station opening for Mouse on Mars, the electronic duo from Dusseldorf.
Over the next two weekends, India Goes 3D, the three-city music festival lays the ground for more musical collaborations. The fest will feature performances from German electronica artists like baille funk-loving producer Daniel Haaksman, pop/ rave/techno duo Coma and Balearic pop producer ADA. The Indian contingent includes Delhi-based audiovisual collective B.L.O.T, Jalebee Cartel’s Arjun Vagale,
Nucleya (Bandish Projekt) and DJs Uri, Vachchan Chinnappa and Jitter.
The conference sections of the festival will take place in Mumbai and Delhi and will see sessions and workshops featuring Petar Djekic of SoundCloud, Miriam Hensel of Wacken Open Air Metal Festival, as well as delegates from German labels, promoters and cultural institutions.
